This American Life, episode 360

This week's episode is Switched At Birth, a story about two families whose baby girls are accidentally swapped shortly after birth and who have to deal with the consequences.

It's a touching story, and all that, but the storytelling is a mess, and frankly the story isn't all that interesting and it doesn't merit a full hour. We find out that the two girls were switched, and that one family was outgoing while the other was strict, both early in the episode, and these facts get repeated for no good reason. I wonder if this could have been tightened up and cut to forty minutes or less. Or maybe just dropped altogether.

Note the presence of a Boards of Canada tune for the second week in a row. The same tune, in fact.
